2005 Vauxhall Corsa 1.2L Petrol · MW55 ABV

The most recent MOT test on 27 November 2025 at 57,372 miles resulted in a pass with no defects or advisories recorded, indicating the vehicle cleared the statutory roadworthiness check at the time of examination. Prior to that, the November 2024 retest also returned a clean pass following an earlier same-day failure where the specific defects are not documented in the supplied record. The 2023 entry follows a similar pattern: a fail on 6 September with no recorded defect details, immediately followed by a pass the next day. Across five recorded test events, the trend is therefore mixed but currently stable, with the two most recent outcomes both clean. No advisories relating to tyres, brakes, suspension, corrosion, or structural integrity appear in any of the recorded entries, which means the MOT history alone does not flag ongoing component wear. Against an age of 21 years, the recorded mileage of 57,372 is unusually low, equating to roughly 2,732 miles per year over the vehicle's life. This pattern is evident in the MOT gap between 2023 and 2024, where only around 1,000 miles appear to have been covered, and again into late 2025. Low annual mileage of this nature is consistent with light use or extended periods of standing rather than regular driving, and it limits the diagnostic value of wear-based advisories that would typically appear on higher-mileage vehicles of similar age. The absence of mileage anomalies or irregular jumps is the only firm observation the record supports; any broader conclusion about mechanical condition cannot be drawn from the MOT data alone. For a buyer, the lack of recorded advisories does not remove the need for a physical inspection, particularly given the age and the low-use profile. A 21-year-old Vauxhall Corsa commonly suffers from corrosion around wheel arches, sills, and subframe mounting points, so these areas warrant close examination regardless of MOT status. Suspension components such as coil springs, wishbone bushes, and anti-roll bar links deteriorate with age even on lightly used cars, as do rubber brake hoses, caliper slide pins, and flexible exhaust sections. Given the two failed tests in the history, it would also be prudent to confirm what remedial work was carried out, as the supplied record does not document the specific reasons for refusal. A pre-purchase inspection by a qualified mechanic remains the most reliable way to verify the underlying mechanical state of this vehicle.
