2017 Hyundai Tucson 1.7L Diesel · MW67 VBN

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status despite a history of technical failures. The most recent test on 20 December 2024 at 76,704 miles secured a pass with no recorded defects, following a failure just one day prior. This pattern suggests that the owner is proactive in rectifying immediate issues to ensure the vehicle remains legal. The lack of recurring advisories across the last three passes indicates that the mechanical and structural components currently operate within acceptable tolerances. The mileage progression is consistent with typical usage for a nine-year-old SUV, averaging approximately 8,500 miles annually. Between December 2022 at 48,938 miles and December 2023 at 62,109 miles, the vehicle covered 13,171 miles, which is slightly above the annual average but not excessive. The subsequent interval saw 14,595 miles covered, maintaining a steady driving pattern. This regular use often prevents issues associated with long periods of standing, such as seized brakes or corrosion. While the record is clean of structural advisories, the back-to-back failures in 2023 and 2024 warrant a physical inspection of the components that caused the initial rejects. Since the record does not specify the exact reasons for those failures, a buyer should check for wear on common failure points like light bulbs, wiper blades, or minor fluid leaks. Given the age and mileage, verifying the condition of the suspension bushes and the thickness of the brake discs is essential to ensure no hidden degradation is developing between the next MOT cycle.
