2022 Tesla Model Y RWD Electric · N26 YAW

This Tesla Model Y RWD, tested just five months ago on 13 December 2025 at 21,659 miles, currently holds a clean MOT record with no defects or advisories. The absence of any failures or warnings in the most recent test suggests the vehicle passed all mandatory checks for brakes, suspension, steering, lights, and emissions without incident. However, the lack of historical MOT data beyond this single entry prevents a full assessment of long-term reliability trends. The most recent pass does not reveal any recurring issues, but the sparse record means critical components like battery health, regenerative braking systems, or high-voltage integrity cannot be evaluated through MOT history alone. The recorded mileage of 21,659 miles over approximately four years—roughly 5,415 miles annually—indicates unusually low usage for a vehicle of this age. While low mileage generally correlates with reduced wear on mechanical components, it also raises questions about storage conditions or extended periods of inactivity, which could accelerate degradation in rubber seals, battery capacity, or suspension fluid integrity. Without prior MOTs, there is no evidence of progressive wear or maintenance gaps, but the absence of intermediate tests means potential issues—such as corrosion in wheel arches or minor suspension bush deterioration—could have gone unrecorded. Given the limited MOT data, an in-person inspection should prioritise the battery’s state of charge and any visible signs of degradation in the high-voltage system, including cable insulation or terminal corrosion. The suspension should be checked for uneven tyre wear, which could indicate worn coil springs or bushings, while the regenerative braking system’s cooling ducts should be inspected for blockages or damage. Since the MOT did not test for structural corrosion—particularly around the wheel arches, sills, or underbody—the buyer should examine these areas for rust penetration, which could compromise structural integrity. Finally, the tyre tread depth, while not failing in the MOT, should be verified as recent MOTs do not always catch uneven wear patterns that could indicate alignment or suspension issues.
