2003 Ford Fusion 1.4L Petrol · ND53 CVK

The vehicle currently presents an uncertain roadworthiness status due to a lack of recent certification for nearly four years. The last recorded test on 30 May 2022 at 97,064 miles resulted in a failure with no specific defects listed in the data, which suggests an administrative oversight or a significant mechanical rejection. Since no MOT has been performed since 2022, the mechanical condition is legally unverified, and the overall maintenance trend cannot be deemed stable given the long period of recorded inactivity. The mileage profile is notably low for a 23-year-old Ford, averaging approximately 4,220 miles per year. Between June 2019 and May 2022, the car covered only 8,008 miles, indicating a pattern of very light use. However, the four-year gap between the 2022 test and June 2026 suggests the vehicle likely sat stationary for extended periods. Low-mileage vehicles that sit often suffer from degradation of rubber components, seized brake calipers, and fluid contamination, which are not captured by mileage-based wear metrics alone. A buyer must prioritize a physical inspection of the structural integrity and underbody. Given the age and the potential for long standing periods, corrosion on the sills, floor pans, and exhaust is a primary concern. The suspension system should be checked for perished bushes and degraded coil springs, which occur over time regardless of mileage. Because the 2022 failure lacks specific defect data, a thorough test of the braking system's operation for binding or corroded discs is essential to ensure the vehicle is fit for road before attempting a new MOT.
