2006 Vauxhall Astra 2.0L Petrol · ND56 KSN

The vehicle presents a high level of roadworthiness, evidenced by a consistent history of clean passes. The most recent test on 10 April 2026 at 106,865 miles resulted in no defects or advisories. This indicates a remarkably stable maintenance trend over the last several years, suggesting that the previous owners have proactively addressed minor wear and tear before they could escalate into failures or advisory items during the annual inspections. The mileage profile is notably low for a twenty-year-old Astra, averaging approximately 5,343 miles per year. Data shows a significant gap between November 2020 and February 2023, during which the vehicle covered only 5,352 miles. Since 2023, the usage has become more consistent, with increments of roughly 3,000 to 4,000 miles annually. This low annual mileage typically reduces the mechanical strain on the drivetrain and engine components, though it increases the risk of rubber-based components degrading or seizing due to long periods of inactivity. While the MOT record shows no recurring faults, a physical inspection must focus on components susceptible to age rather than just mileage. A buyer should specifically check for structural corrosion on the sills and rear wheel arches, which are common failure points for this generation of Vauxhall. Given the low usage, the inspector should also examine tyre sidewalls for perished rubber and the suspension bushes for cracks. The braking system should be tested for seized calipers to ensure that the infrequent use has not caused the pistons to rust or the discs to pit excessively.
