2005 Honda Jazz 1.3L Petrol · NV05 AEP

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status based on its consistent history of clean MOT results. The most recent test on 10 January 2024 at 58,386 miles passed with no defects recorded, indicating that the car currently meets minimum safety and emissions standards. While the record shows minor failures immediately preceding passes in two consecutive years, the eventual passes without advisories suggest that any identified issues were rectified prior to the re-tests. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for a 21-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 2,780 miles per year. Between January 2022 at 53,210 miles and January 2024 at 58,386 miles, the car covered only 5,176 miles over two years. This low usage pattern suggests light road use, which typically reduces mechanical wear on the engine and internal drivetrain components. However, such low mileage on older vehicles can sometimes lead to the degradation of rubber components and the seizing of brake components if the car sits stationary for extended periods. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on components that suffer from age rather than distance. Given the vehicle's age, it is critical to check for structural corrosion on the sills, floor pans, and wheel arches, where Honda models of this era often suffer. Inspect the suspension bushes and coil springs for perish cracking, as rubber becomes brittle over two decades regardless of mileage. Additionally, verify the brake discs for surface pitting or thinning, as low-frequency use often results in surface rust or binding calipers.
