2011 Vauxhall Astra 1.7L Diesel · NX61 WGD

The vehicle is currently roadworthy and demonstrates a stable maintenance trend despite its high mileage. The most recent test on 7 November 2025 at 181,055 miles passed with no recorded defects, following a failure just four days prior. This sequence suggests the current owner is proactive in addressing immediate compliance issues to ensure the vehicle remains legal. The lack of recurring advisories across the last three tests indicates that the mechanical components currently meet the minimum safety standards for road use. The mileage pattern reflects consistent high-intensity use, averaging approximately 12,000 miles per annum over the fifteen-year lifespan. Between December 2023 and December 2024, the Astra covered 16,994 miles in a single year, which is significantly higher than the annual average. The further accumulation of 15,623 miles between the December 2024 and November 2025 tests shows the vehicle remains in heavy use. This level of mileage puts substantial long-term stress on the drivetrain, suspension bushings, and cooling-related hardware. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on the areas most susceptible to high-mileage wear. Given the 181,055-mile reading, check for play in the control arm bushes and signs of shock leakage, as these often fail after such extensive travel. The braking system should be examined for thinning discs or seized calipers, as high mileage suggests frequent component replacement. While the MOT record is currently clean, the structural integrity must be verified for corrosion on the sills and rear mounting points, common for Astra models of this age.
