2017 Honda Jazz 1.3L Petrol · OE17 DVM

The vehicle remains roadworthy, but the maintenance history reveals a persistent trend of neglected brake-related components. While the most recent test in September 2025 at 32,388 miles passed, the record notes pitted and scored rear brake discs, an issue that dates back at least four years. The trend is stable in terms of passing tests, yet suggests the previous owner consistently opted for the minimum required to maintain legality rather than performing proactive preventative replacement of worn braking hardware. The mileage profile is exceptionally low for a nine-year-old Honda, averaging approximately 3,600 miles per year. Between August 2021 at 25,514 miles and September 2025 at 32,388 miles, the car covered fewer than seven thousand miles. This low usage often correlates with the mechanical issues noted in the record. The 2021 test specifically flagged perishing tyres and uneven wear, which are classic symptoms of a vehicle that sits stationary for long periods, allowing rubber components to degrade despite a lack of road mileage. A buyer must conduct a thorough physical inspection of the braking system and suspension components. The recurring reports of binding rear brakes in 2022 and 2023, combined with consistently pitted discs across all axles, indicate seized calipers or corroded slider pins due to inactivity. You should check for uneven pad wear and ensure the current discs are not thinned beyond the minimum limit. Additionally, given the 2021 report of perishing tyres, the age and condition of the current sidewalls must be verified, as low mileage does not prevent rubber from becoming brittle over time through oxygen exposure and UV damage.
