2016 Vauxhall Corsa 1.4L Petrol · OW16 ACZ

The vehicle presents a generally stable roadworthiness profile, though the maintenance history indicates a tendency toward reactive rather than proactive upkeep. The most recent test on 5 May 2026 at 58,646 miles resulted in a pass, but the tester flagged front brake pads as wearing thin. While the vehicle has passed its last three annual inspections, the recurring nature of consumable-related advisories suggests the owner tends to address issues only when they reach the threshold of an MOT failure or advisory. The mileage progression is consistent with a low-use vehicle, averaging approximately 5,800 miles per year over its ten-year lifespan. The data shows steady increments, moving from 24,761 miles in March 2021 to 58,646 miles in May 2026. This low annual mileage reduces mechanical wear on the drivetrain and engine components but increases the risk of age-related degradation. This is evidenced by the 2022 and 2023 tests, where the vehicle failed or received advisories due to perished and cracking tyres, a common symptom of vehicles that sit stationary for extended periods. A prospective buyer should focus on the condition of rubber components and braking systems. The history shows a pattern of tyre deterioration, with the 2022 test flagging all four tyres as cracked and perished, and the 2023 test noting heavily cracked outer sidewalls. You must inspect all tyres, including the spares, for sidewall cracking and age-related perishing. The recent advisory regarding thin front brake pads necessitates a physical inspection of the remaining pad thickness and the condition of the brake discs to ensure they are not scored or heavily corroded. Electrical and visibility components also require scrutiny. Previous failures involving a non-working offside headlamp in 2023 and ineffective windscreen wipers in 2022 suggest that basic maintenance items are occasionally overlooked. Check the functionality of all exterior lighting, including main beam and reflectors, and ensure the wiper blades and washer system operate without obstruction. The 2025 advisory regarding a tyre pressure monitoring system warning lamp should also be investigated to confirm the sensor is functional and not merely reporting a fault due to a faulty component.
