2012 Mercedes-Benz E 2.1L Diesel · PJ12 DZH

The vehicle currently maintains a roadworthy status following its most recent MOT pass in November 2025 at 276,569 miles. The maintenance trend appears stable, as the car has consistently passed its inspections after initial failures. While the tester recorded failures in both November 2024 and 2025, the data shows a pattern of immediate rectification followed by successful passes, suggesting that the owner addresses identified defects before testing rather than allowing them to persist. The mileage accumulation is exceptionally high for a 14-year-old vehicle, averaging nearly 20,000 miles per year. Between the June 2024 test at 233,035 miles and the November 2024 test, the car covered over 36,000 miles in just five months. This indicates high-intensity motorway-style use, which places significant strain on the drivetrain, turbo, and suspension components. The consistent intervals between the most recent tests suggest the vehicle is in constant use rather than sitting de-motated for long periods. A buyer must focus the physical inspection on the suspension assembly and braking system due to the high-mile wear. Given the mileage, the rubber bushings and coil springs are likely near the end of their functional life. The buyer should also check for signs of excessive thinning on brake discs or binding calipers, as high-frequency driving often accelerates wear on these consumables. Because the MOT record shows no structural advisories, a visual check of the chassis and subframes for corrosion remains necessary to ensure the high mileage exposure has not compromised structural integrity.
