That was fixed, but the underlying corrosion risk on a 20-year-old Fiat Punto remains very high, especially around suspension mounting points, sills, and the rear axle area where swivel pins and bushes have repeatedly worn prematurely. The front suspension shows a persistent pattern of play in track rod ends and the steering column universal joint, indicating either poor alignment or long-term neglect. Rear brake imbalance and worn axle bushes point to a car that has not had its chassis components properly sorted. Before committing, have a fresh MOT carried out and get the underside inspected on a ramp by an independent garage. Pay particular attention to the sub-frame, rear axle bushes, brake lines, and the condition of all rubber joints and seals that will have perished during long periods of inactivity. The engine oil leak, even if described as slight, should be traced to its source, as oil contamination can damage rubber hoses and bushes already flagged as marginal.
