2007 Bentley Continental 6.0L Petrol · PN57 AFZ

The Bentley Continental’s most recent MOT test on 2026-04-20 confirms it remains roadworthy, with no defects recorded at 74,726 miles. The absence of advisories or failures across the last three tests—including the 2024 and 2023 cycles—suggests a stable maintenance pattern, though the 2023 repeat test at nearly identical mileage (71,320 vs. 71,331) indicates a minor administrative oversight rather than mechanical recurrence. The vehicle’s compliance with emissions and structural checks in April 2026 aligns with expectations for a low-mileage luxury model, but the lack of advisories does not preclude hidden wear in high-cost components like drivetrain seals, suspension bushes, or electrical systems. The recorded mileage of 74,726 miles over nearly 19 years—approximately 3,933 miles annually—is unusually low for a vehicle of this age and class, suggesting either minimal use or prolonged periods of storage. The gap between the 2023 failure (30 March) and subsequent pass (31 March) at virtually identical mileage (71,320 vs. 71,331) is likely procedural, as no defects were noted. Beyond that, the consistency in mileage increments—just 938 miles between the 2023 and 2024 tests—implies the vehicle has not been subjected to aggressive driving or heavy load conditions, which could mitigate some wear concerns. However, the prolonged intervals between tests (over a year between 2023 and 2024) raise questions about whether intermediate servicing was performed, particularly for fluid changes or high-wear items. Given the absence of MOT-recorded faults, a prospective buyer should prioritise a thorough inspection of the Bentley’s suspension components, including coil springs, bushes, and dampers, as these are prone to fatigue over 19 years even with low mileage. The drivetrain—particularly the automatic transmission and differential—should be checked for leaks or unusual noise, as luxury models often suffer from seal degradation despite minimal use. Electrical systems, such as the charging circuit and lighting, warrant scrutiny, as older Bentleys frequently develop intermittent faults in wiring or connectors. Finally, the underbody should be examined for corrosion, especially around wheel arches and sills, where standing water or road salt could have accelerated deterioration despite the low mileage. The lack of MOT advisories does not guarantee these areas are pristine.
