2004 Porsche Boxster 2.7L Petrol · PS03 CSS

The latest MOT test for the 2004 PORSCHE BOXSTER was completed on 2025-09-10 and resulted in a PASS. This consistent passing across five consecutive MOTs indicates a stable maintenance record and suggests the vehicle has been well cared for over its lifespan. However, the vehicle has accumulated a total of 42,240 miles, which translates to approximately 1,920 miles per year—considering its age of around 22 years. This rate is relatively low for a car of its age, which may reflect either lighter usage or extended periods of stationary operation. While this is not unusual, it does warrant attention to wear patterns on critical systems such as the suspension, brakes, and drivetrain components. The mileage data, when viewed against the vehicle’s age, highlights the importance of monitoring mechanical integrity. At this stage, the owner should be particularly vigilant about the condition of the tyres, as sidewall cracking or perishing from age can compromise handling and safety. The braking system should be inspected for any signs of binding or reduced pad life, which could manifest as a shudder or spongy brake response during testing. Additionally, the 12V battery health should be assessed, as age-related degradation can affect starting performance and electrical systems. Fluid levels and condition—especially brake, power steering, and cooling fluids—must also be verified, as time-based degradation can lead to inefficiencies or failures. For a buyer evaluating this vehicle, the key lies in understanding the balance between its clean MOT history and the accumulated mileage. Given the low annual mileage, practical checks should focus on the structural and mechanical systems that degrade most slowly. Inspect the tyre sidewalls for any signs of wear or damage, test the braking system for smoothness and responsiveness, and confirm that all fluid levels are adequate. It is also advisable to verify that service book stamps are present and that the vehicle has received regular maintenance. If the MOT record remains spotless and usage aligns with expectations, the car should perform reliably, but proactive inspections will ensure long-term roadworthiness.
