2016 Ford Transit Connect 1.6L Diesel · PX16 YND

The 2016 Ford Transit Connect holds a current MOT position as of the July 2025 test, which recorded a pass at the vehicle's most recent inspection. Across the four recorded tests spanning 2022 to 2025, every entry returned a clean pass with no advisories or failures logged. The trend, therefore, reads as stable and consistently clean on paper, though it should be noted that the MOT record covers only three full years of history and does not capture the earlier life of this ten-year-old commercial vehicle. Annual mileage of approximately 9,099 miles is broadly typical for a van of this age, suggesting regular but moderate use rather than heavy commercial deployment. The interval between the 2022 and 2025 tests shows steady accumulation rather than any anomalous gaps or sudden spikes in recorded mileage, which aligns with normal working patterns for a light commercial. The most recent test sits roughly thirteen months before today's date, so the existing MOT certificate will remain valid until July 2026 unless circumstances change. Because the MOT record contains no flagged items, it offers no direct clues about component wear rates or developing faults. A prospective buyer should therefore prioritise a physical inspection of the areas most commonly affected on a high-floor, load-carrying vehicle of this vintage. Particular attention should be paid to the front suspension components, including coil springs, wishbone bushes, and anti-roll bar links, as well as the rear leaf spring assemblies and mounting hangers where corrosion is frequently encountered. Brake discs and pads, especially the rear drums or calipers, should be checked for wear or binding, and the underside should be examined for structural corrosion around load-bearing areas such as the inner sills, cross members, and rear chassis rails. Exhaust integrity, steering rack condition, and the state of the tyres in terms of both tread depth and age-related cracking would also warrant close scrutiny on inspection.
