2008 Fiat Bravo 1.9L Diesel · RE08 LNW

This 2008 Fiat Bravo has demonstrated a stable roadworthiness trend over its most recent MOT cycles, with both tests in May 2022 and May 2023 passing without any recorded defects or advisories. The absence of repeat failures or warnings suggests the vehicle has undergone consistent, if not rigorous, maintenance during this period. However, the most recent test occurred over two years ago, on 3 May 2023, when the odometer read 95,027 miles. Given the current date of 27 July 2026, this places the vehicle nearly three years past its last MOT, a duration that exceeds the standard 12-month validity period. While the lack of defects in the last two tests indicates no immediate mechanical failures, the extended period without an inspection introduces uncertainty over wear items like brakes, suspension, and emissions systems, which may have deteriorated beyond observable limits. The recorded mileage of 95,027 miles over approximately 18 years—roughly 5,279 miles annually—suggests the vehicle has seen relatively light usage. This could imply either infrequent driving or prolonged periods of storage, both of which may have mitigated some wear but also allowed for corrosion or component degradation in areas exposed to moisture or lack of movement. The gap between tests, spanning 12 months each time, aligns with legal requirements but does not provide insight into any intermediate maintenance. Without additional service records, it is impossible to confirm whether critical components like timing belts, fluid changes, or suspension bushes were serviced within recommended intervals. Given the clean MOT history, a buyer should prioritise an independent inspection of high-wear areas that are not always captured in a standard MOT. Focus on the suspension, particularly the condition of coil springs, bushes, and shock absorbers, as these are prone to gradual failure and may not always trigger a fail unless severely compromised. The brakes, including calipers, pads, and discs, should be examined for uneven wear, binding, or corrosion, especially if the vehicle has spent extended periods stationary. Emissions systems, while not failed in prior tests, may have drifted beyond legal limits over three years, warranting a scan for faults in the catalytic converter or oxygen sensors. Structural integrity, particularly around wheel arches, sills, and the subframe, should also be scrutinised for corrosion, as this is a common issue in vehicles of this age and mileage. The absence of advisories in prior tests does not guarantee these areas are free from deterioration.
