2009 BMW 116 1.6L Petrol · RE59 AAV

This vehicle presents an exceptionally stable roadworthiness profile. The most recent MOT on 15 November 2025 at 86,178 miles resulted in a clean pass with no defects or advisories recorded. This follows a consistent five-year trend of passing without a single recorded failure or advisory, indicating a high standard of preventative maintenance. The mileage is notably low for a 2009 model, averaging roughly 5,069 miles per year. There was a significant increase in usage between August 2024 and November 2025, where the odometer rose from 68,677 to 86,178 miles. This jump of nearly 17,500 miles in just over a year contrasts with the slower accumulation seen between August 2021 and August 2022, when the car covered only 7,917 miles. Despite the clean record, the low overall mileage and the recent spike in use suggest specific areas for physical inspection. Long periods of light use can lead to perished rubber components or seized brake calipers. A buyer should check the condition of the suspension bushes and the elasticity of the tyres, as age-related cracking often occurs even when tread depth remains legal. The absence of structural corrosion or exhaust emissions failures in the records is a positive sign for a vehicle of this vintage. However, a manual check of the brake discs for surface pitting and a verification of the service history are recommended to ensure the oil changes kept pace with the recent increase in mileage.
