2016 Volkswagen Crafter 2.0L Diesel · RF16 NKO

The Volkswagen Crafter’s most recent MOT test on 26 January 2026 at 114,906 miles confirms it remains roadworthy with no defects recorded. This pattern of clean passes—spanning five consecutive tests from February 2022 to January 2026—indicates a stable maintenance history without recurring mechanical failures. The absence of advisories or major defects suggests the vehicle has been kept in sound condition, though the lack of any recorded issues does not preclude hidden wear on high-mileage components like suspension bushes, coil springs, or drivetrain joints. Mileage progression shows consistent usage, averaging around 11,500 miles annually, which is typical for a commercial vehicle of this age. The most notable gap occurs between the April 2022 test (82,958 miles) and the February 2023 test (88,411 miles), a 5,453-mile interval—slightly longer than the usual 12-month cycle but not unusual for a vehicle in regular service. There are no red flags in the mileage pattern, and the absence of early MOTs means no evidence of deferred maintenance or extended periods of disuse. Given the clean MOT history, a buyer should prioritise an independent inspection of suspension components, particularly the rear axle bushes and coil springs, given the vehicle’s age and mileage. Brake discs and calipers should be checked for uneven wear or binding, as high-mileage commercial vehicles often experience accelerated brake pad and rotor degradation. Structural integrity, especially around wheel arches and sills, warrants scrutiny for corrosion, particularly if the vehicle has seen wet or salted environments. The lack of recorded advisories does not rule out minor consumables like wiper blades or interior upholstery, which may require replacement.
