2015 Toyota Aygo 1.0L Petrol · RF65 LMK

The most recent MOT test on 08 December 2025 resulted in a pass with no recorded defects. Looking at the overall maintenance trend, the vehicle shows a clear trajectory of improvement. Following a period of mechanical concern in 2020, which included major failures regarding windscreen wiper effectiveness and significant wear on both front brake discs, the vehicle has achieved four consecutive clean passes. This indicates that the previous issues were rectified and that the current mechanical state appears to be well-maintained and stable. With a recorded mileage of 41,190 miles over an eleven-year period, the vehicle has averaged approximately 3,745 miles per year. This is exceptionally low usage for a car of this age. While this suggests minimal wear on the engine, transmission, and suspension components, it also indicates a high likelihood of the vehicle having spent significant time stationary. Low-use vehicles often present different mechanical risks than high-mileage counterparts, specifically regarding the chemical degradation of fluids and the perishing of rubber-based components. During your inspection, you should pay particular attention to age-related deterioration rather than mechanical wear. Closely inspect the tyres for sidewall cracking or perishing, as rubber degrades over time regardless of tread depth. Given the history of brake disc advisories and failures, check the front brake discs for excessive corrosion or pitting caused by standing, and listen for any binding calipers or shuddering through the brake pedal during your test drive. It is also vital to check the condition of the suspension bushes and engine mounts for signs of cracking or hardening. Ensure that the vehicle has been serviced according to the manufacturer's time intervals rather than just mileage, as oil, brake fluid, and coolant can degrade chemically over time. Check the 12V battery for signs of terminal corrosion and ensure it holds a charge, as infrequent driving is a common cause of battery failure. Finally, verify the service book for evidence of regular maintenance and inspect the windscreen wipers and washer system to ensure they operate smoothly, as these were previous points of failure.
