2014 Toyota Auris 1.6L Petrol · RK14 ABV

The 2014 Toyota Auris presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend, evidenced by the July 2025 test at 47,141 miles returning a pass with no defects recorded. Prior examinations show the same clean outcome, indicating no worsening mechanical or structural concerns across the recorded history. The isolated failure on 19 July 2024 at 45,130 miles, logged with no defects, was immediately followed by a pass on the same date, suggesting an administrative anomaly rather than a latent fault. Mileage accumulation remains low for a twelve-year-old vehicle. From the August 2022 test at 39,869 miles to the August 2023 test at 42,596 miles the car covered 2,727 miles. By the July 2024 test at 45,130 miles it added 2,534 miles, then only 2,011 miles to the July 2025 test at 47,141 miles. This gentle year-on-year reduction points to light, infrequent use rather than neglect of consumables through high wear. The sparse but unbroken pass record offers no evidence of skipped maintenance intervals. A buyer should still commission a physical inspection focused on components prone to deterioration during prolonged standing. The tester recorded no advisories on suspension bushes, coil springs, brake discs or corrosion, yet low mileage can mask perished rubber mounts and superficial structural rust beneath sills. We recommend checking for binding calipers, assessing exhaust emissions under cold start, and verifying tyre sidewall condition despite absence of tread warnings. The contradictory 2024 fail entry warrants a DVSA certificate check to rule out clerical error before purchase.
