Ball‑joint play and tyre wear are typical wear items but indicate that the suspension is approaching the end of its service life. Mileage of 189,095 mi on a 20‑year‑old Megane works out to about 9,500 mi per year – roughly average for its age. It does not point to extreme hard use, but the accumulated miles mean consumables such as suspension components, brake hardware and tyres are likely nearing the end of their useful life.
