2018 Audi A4 1.4L Petrol · RP18 XXX

The 2018 Audi A4 presents a stable and generally improving maintenance trend, culminating in a clean pass on 17 October 2025 at 69,259 miles. The most recent test recorded only a minor advisory for an offside rear tyre worn close to the legal limit, a routine consumable issue rather than a mechanical concern. Comparing this to the 2023 test, where both front tyres and rear brake pads were flagged as wearing thin, the vehicle appears to have received consistent attention to its braking and tyre condition over the past two years. No structural corrosion, suspension failure, or emissions defect has ever appeared on the record, which is a positive indicator of long-term structural integrity for an eight-year-old vehicle. The mileage accumulation of roughly 8,657 miles per year sits squarely within the typical range for a vehicle of this age, suggesting regular rather than light use. A notable gap exists between the October 2023 test at 52,142 miles and the October 2024 test at 66,801 miles, representing 14,659 miles covered in a single twelve-month period. This spike in annual mileage, nearly double the vehicle's long-term average, implies a period of heavier commuting or long-distance use that would have accelerated wear on consumable components. Despite this, the 2024 test recorded only front brake pads wearing thin, and the 2025 test showed no brake-related advisories at all, suggesting the pads and discs were replaced during that high-mileage interval. The 2022 test at 44,345 miles flagged worn upper suspension arm pins or bushes on both front corners, a common wear item on Audi A4 platforms. Critically, the tester noted the wear was not yet resulting in excessive movement, and this defect has not reappeared in any subsequent test. A buyer should still have the front suspension inspected in person, paying close attention to the condition of the wishbone bushes and ball joints, as these components can deteriorate between annual tests. The repeated tyre wear advisories across multiple tests, including edge wear patterns, suggest the vehicle may benefit from a four-wheel alignment check to rule out aggressive camber settings or worn tracking components. The nail punctures recorded on both rear tyres in 2022 were resolved and have not recurred, but the pattern of tyre-related advisories appearing in three of the five recorded tests indicates that basic tyre upkeep has been reactive rather than proactive. A buyer should carefully inspect the current tyre condition, including sidewall integrity and tread depth across all four wheels, and verify the date codes to confirm recent replacement. The braking system, having shown advisories in 2023 and 2024, should be checked for disc thickness, pad material remaining, and any signs of binding calipers, particularly at the rear. Overall, the record reflects a mechanically sound vehicle with no serious structural or safety-critical defects, though the maintenance pattern suggests a buyer should budget for routine suspension and alignment checks to preserve the car's current roadworthiness.
