The most recent MOT on 6 March 2026 failed, and it listed a large number of serious defects. At 150,781 mi the car showed: Multiple lighting failures – registration plate lamp, off‑side front position lamp and off‑side headlamp are all inoperative. Front tyre tread on the off‑side is close to the legal limit, and the rear‑side seat‑belt anchorage areas are severely corroded, reducing structural strength. Both rear suspension mounting points (nearside and off‑side) are excessively corroded, and the anti‑roll bar linkage ball joint has slight play. The parking brake on the nearside is ineffective. Additional minor items such as the bonnet retaining device, a small oil leak and an exhaust emissions excess were also noted. These items are the same or similar to those recorded in earlier MOTs. In February 2025 the car passed the test but still had a registration‑plate lamp fault that caused a separate failure entry. In November 2023 the car also failed for lighting, tyre tread, a deteriorating bonnet latch, a modest oil leak, and corrosion of rear‑suspension components (though then it was only “not seriously weakened”). The pattern is clear: corrosion on the sill panels and suspension mounting areas, progressive tyre wear, and recurring lighting faults.
