1998 BMW R1100 1.1L Petrol · S5 DJW

The 1998 BMW R1100 presents a clean roadworthiness status. The most recent test on 16 July 2025 at 16,639 miles passed with no defects recorded. The maintenance trend is stable across the full five-year MOT span, with every annual test from 2021 through 2025 returning a pass and zero advisories. Recorded mileage sits at 16,639 miles against 28 years of age, an average of roughly 594 miles per year. The bike gained just 1,243 miles between the August 2021 test at 11,771 miles and the July 2025 test at 16,639 miles. No gaps appear in the annual testing, and the clean record shows no rapid accumulation or missing entries. Low use of this nature implies long standing periods rather than active wear on consumables. A buyer should still inspect the machine in person for issues the MOT will not capture on a pass. Standing storage invites degraded suspension bushes, hardened fork seals, and corroded brake calipers on the R1100's Telelever and Paralever assemblies. Tyres at this age likely exceed rubber service life regardless of tread depth. Examine the frame and final-drive housing for structural rust and weepage. The absence of advisories across five tests suggests the previous keeper maintained basic statutory standards, yet the sparse mileage means mechanical fatigue from inactivity outweighs wear from use.
