2008 Smart Fortwo Pulse 71 Auto 1.0L Petrol · S6 RSE

The MOT record for this vehicle shows an inconsistent maintenance trend, characterized by a single failure followed immediately by a pass. The most recent recorded test on 20 October 2021 resulted in a pass with no defects or advisories noted. Because no testing data exists for the subsequent five years leading up to the current date of 29 August 2026, the current roadworthiness status cannot be verified from these records alone. The vehicle has covered 78,657 miles over its 18-year lifespan, averaging approximately 4,370 miles per year. This represents low annual usage for a vehicle of this age. However, the absence of any MOT entries between October 2021 and August 2026 indicates a significant gap in official roadworthiness documentation. This lack of recent data makes it impossible to track mileage accumulation or identify any recent mechanical degradation. A prospective buyer must conduct a thorough physical inspection to compensate for the lack of recent testing. Given the low annual mileage, there is a risk that the vehicle has spent extended periods stationary, which can lead to seized brake calipers, perished rubber suspension bushes, or degraded tyres. The 2021 failure, though no specific defects were listed in the summary, suggests a need to check the integrity of the braking system and exhaust components. Specific attention should be paid to the chassis for signs of structural corrosion and the condition of the drivetrain, as low-use vehicles often suffer from fluid degradation. Since the last recorded test is now nearly five years old, a fresh MOT and a comprehensive mechanical assessment are essential to establish the current state of the vehicle's suspension, steering, and emissions. buying_score: 45 risk_level: High.
