2018 Vauxhall Corsa 1.4L Petrol · SA18 OGK

A 2018 Vauxhall Corssa presenting this clean an MOT record is a rarity worth noting, and the supporting evidence is consistent across every test submitted to the DVSA. The most recent examination on 5 May 2025 recorded a straightforward pass with no advisories or defects noted, matching the identical outcomes from May 2024, May 2023, and May 2022. Four consecutive tests without a single advisory suggests the vehicle has not yet developed the corrosion, wear, or component fatigue that typically begins to surface on Corssa of this generation once they pass the five-year mark. The stability of this trend, with no deterioration between tests, indicates the car has been mechanically well maintained throughout its life on the road. The recorded mileage of 17,981 miles over an eight-year registration period equates to an average annual accumulation of roughly 2,248 miles, which sits firmly in the low-mileage bracket for a vehicle of this age. There are no gaps in the MOT testing history, confirming continuous road use rather than a long-term SORN period, and no sudden jumps in odometer readings between the four recorded tests that would suggest clocking or unusual usage patterns. Mechanically, low annual mileage of this nature generally means reduced wear on major drivetrain components, extended life for braking consumables, and lower stress on suspension geometry, though it can also bring the risks associated with short journeys, such as underuse of components designed to operate at sustained operating temperatures. A physical inspection remains essential to verify the odometer itself is functioning and that the condition matches the recorded figure. Given the absence of any recorded advisories, a prospective buyer should focus their evaluation on the components that commonly affect the Corssa platform as it ages into the second half of its first decade. On a test drive, pay particular attention to the front suspension, listening for any knocking or clonking over uneven surfaces that could indicate worn lower wishbone bushes or anti-roll bar drop links, both known wear points on this generation. Check the steering for any vagueness or clonking through full lock, and feel for vibration through the brake pedal under firm application, which can point to warped front discs that may not yet have crossed the MOT rejection threshold but are nearing the end of their service life. A thorough physical inspection underneath the vehicle is strongly advised despite the clean paperwork, as advisories only appear once a defect is flagged by the tester, and items such as rear drum brake components, exhaust mounting rubbers, or underbody corrosion may have begun to deteriorate without yet triggering a recorded entry. Inspect all four tyres for even tread wear, as inner shoulder wear on the front pair can indicate misalignment from worn suspension components. Verify the operation of all electrical systems including the infotainment unit, central locking, and climate control, as these are areas where age-related faults can develop independently of the mechanical components covered by the MOT. Finally, confirm the timing chain or cam belt service interval is documented, as neglect in this area is not recorded on an MOT but represents the most significant mechanical risk on any small petrol Corssa approaching eight years of age.
