2013 Honda Civic 1.3L Petrol · SD13 DKO

The vehicle remains roadworthy, but the maintenance history reveals a worsening trend regarding structural and component corrosion. While the most recent test in April 2026 at 108,468 miles passed, the tester identified corroded underbody components. This represents a technical progression from the May 2025 test where the front sub-frame was flagged for corrosion. The persistent presence of these issues across multiple years suggests the vehicle is exposed to environmental degradation without adequate protection or preventative treatment. The mileage pattern is consistent with a 13-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 8,300 miles per year. The data shows steady usage with regular intervals, moving from 72,308 miles in May 2022 to 108,468 miles by April 2026. This consistent accumulation suggests the car has not sat stationary for long periods, which generally prevents seal failure and seizing, though the low mileage relative to the age has contributed to the visible surface pitting and wear noted in the braking system. A buyer must prioritize a thorough inspection of the braking system and suspension geometry. The recurring advisories for pitted and scoring on rear brake discs in nearly every test since 2023 indicate a failure to replace worn components or a tendency toward infrequent brake use. Furthermore, the corrosion on the rear coil springs noted in 2023 and the spreading rust on the sub-frame and underbody require a close-up inspection to ensure the structural integrity of the sub-frame has not been compromised, as sub-frame rot often leads to a major MOT failure if left untreated.
