2005 Kawasaki VN1600 1.6L Petrol · SF05 TFU

The vehicle is currently in a stable and roadworthy condition based on the most recent MOT pass on 4 July 2025 at 38,851 miles. The record shows a consistent pattern of passes without any recorded defects or advisories over the last four years. This indicates a high standard of mechanical upkeep and a vehicle that meets the required safety and emissions standards without recurring issues. The mileage is low for a 21 year old motorcycle, averaging roughly 1,850 miles per year. The usage pattern has remained steady, with the odometer moving from 31,802 miles in April 2022 to 38,851 miles by July 2025. The most significant period of use occurred between May 2023 and June 2024, where the mileage increased by 3,700 miles. There are no erratic jumps in the data to suggest clocking or prolonged periods of abandonment. A single failure occurred on 28 April 2023 at 33,965 miles, though the record lists no specific defects. This suggests a minor or quickly rectified issue that was resolved before the pass on 31 May 2023. Because the MOT history is exceptionally clean and lacks advisories, the record provides no specific warnings regarding suspension bushes, brake disc wear, or exhaust leaks. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on components that degrade regardless of mileage. Low-use motorcycles often suffer from perished tyres, degraded brake fluid, and battery failure. Check for corrosion on the frame and chrome, as these are common on older cruisers. Verify the condition of the fork seals and ensure the fuel system is free from varnish if the bike has spent long periods standing between its annual tests.
