2005 Honda FR-V 2.0L Petrol · SJ05 VNP

The Honda FR-V presents a stable and reassuring maintenance profile, with the most recent MOT conducted on 5 December 2023 at 141,387 miles resulting in a clean pass and zero defects recorded. The MOT record shows no recurring faults, no advisories, and no pattern of worsening or unresolved defects across any test in the available history. This is a vehicle that has consistently met the UK roadworthiness standard without intervention, suggesting attentive ownership and no underlying mechanical or structural deterioration. The mileage accumulation is measured and consistent with the vehicle's age. Between the October 2021 test at 131,658 miles and the October 2022 test at 137,659 miles, the vehicle covered 6,001 miles over twelve months. The mileage then remained static at 141,387 miles from October 2022 through both December 2023 tests, indicating the car has seen very little use or has been standing for an extended period since late 2022. That stagnation warrants attention, as prolonged inactivity can cause flat-spotted tyres, seized brake calipers, dried-out rubber bushes, and fuel system issues even when no MOT defects were flagged. A buyer should focus the physical inspection on components most affected by long periods of inactivity. Check the tyre sidewalls for perishing and the brake discs for surface corrosion or uneven pad deposits, which are common after standing. Examine the suspension bushes and exhaust system for corrosion, particularly given the vehicle's age, and verify that the engine runs cleanly from cold to rule out injector or fuel degradation issues. The absence of any MOT defects is encouraging, but a test drive under varied conditions remains essential to confirm that no binding, vibration, or handling issues have developed since the vehicle last moved regularly.
