A developing trend of braking system degradation defines the current mechanical state of this vehicle, following several years of clean roadworthiness. While the test on 2 December 2025 resulted in a pass, it highlighted multiple concerns regarding brake efficiency and component wear, contrasting with the flawless records of 2023 and 2024. This shift indicates that the vehicle is now entering a phase where primary wear-and-tear items require intervention to maintain safety standards. The recorded mileage of 52,554 miles is notably low for a ten-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 5,255 miles per year. This low annual accumulation suggests the car has been used for light duties or short-distance urban trips. Mechanically, while this results in lower wear on the engine and drivetrain, it often correlates with the type of braking issues seen in the latest report, where components can suffer from surface corrosion or lack of regular heat cycling despite the low odometer reading. Immediate attention is required for the braking system, specifically the rear brake pads which are recorded as wearing thin and a parking brake that only just meets the minimum efficiency threshold. During a test drive, the buyer should feel for any pulsation or judder through the brake pedal, which would correlate with the recorded fluctuation in the offside front service brake. The parking brake should be tested on a gradient to ensure it holds the vehicle securely without excessive lever travel. Beyond the brakes, the previous advisory regarding an insecure engine undertray should be verified to ensure it has been properly refastened, as a loose tray can cause wind noise or sustain damage. The overall stability of the MOT history suggests a mechanically sound vehicle, provided the current braking advisories are addressed through a full inspection of the calipers and replacement of the rear pads.
