2009 Peugeot Bipper S HDI Heavy oil · SNZ 2057

A pattern of intermittent compliance issues defines this vehicle's recent testing history, characterized by two separate instances where the vehicle failed to meet minimum standards before achieving a pass. While the most recent recorded test on 22 November 2022 resulted in a pass with no defects, the preceding failures in July 2021 and November 2022 indicate that the vehicle has required remedial work to maintain roadworthiness within recent years. The absence of recorded advisories in the latest pass suggests that the components inspected at that time met the required thresholds, but the history of failures necessitates a cautious approach to its current mechanical state. The available data provides an incomplete picture regarding the vehicle's annual mileage accumulation, as specific mileage figures were not provided for comparison against the vehicle's age. This lack of longitudinal data makes it impossible to determine if the Peugeot Bipper has been subject to high-frequency motorway use or short-distance urban driving, both of which impact different mechanical systems. Furthermore, there is a notable gap in testing between June 2019 and July 2021, which represents a two-year period without official DVSA oversight. Such a gap can mask the gradual degradation of rubber components, such as suspension bushes or coolant hoses, and the onset of corrosion on structural elements like the subframe or brake pipes. Given that the recent MOT records show no specific defects or advisories, a physical inspection must focus on the areas that typically fail on this model but were not explicitly flagged in the provided history. A prospective buyer should pay close attention to the suspension system, specifically looking for any knocking or clunking sounds when traversing uneven surfaces, which could indicate worn ball joints or control arm bushes. Additionally, because the vehicle has experienced failures in the past, it is essential to inspect the braking system for any signs of uneven pad wear or pedal judder, which may point to warped discs or sticking calipers that were rectified during previous retests. The lack of recorded advisories regarding fluid leaks or emissions means the buyer must perform a thorough visual check of the engine bay and undercarriage for signs of oil misting or coolant weeping. During a test drive, pay close attention to the steering response; any pulling to one side or a heavy, unresponsive feel could indicate issues with the steering rack or tie rod ends that were not captured in the 2022 test. Because the usage pattern and mileage are obscured, verifying the current condition of the drive belts and the integrity of the exhaust system is a necessary step to ensure no recent deterioration has occurred since the last inspection.
