2009 Toyota Auris 1.6L Petrol · SP09 XOR

The vehicle remains in a roadworthy condition with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent MOT test on 14 November 2024 at 86,187 miles resulted in a pass with no recorded defects, following a failure just three days prior. This sequence suggests that any issues identified during the initial inspection were immediately rectified before the retest. The consistency of clean passes across the last three years indicates that the vehicle is being maintained to meet minimum legal standards. The mileage profile is notably low for a 17-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 5,070 miles per year. Between November 2022 at 75,643 miles and November 2024 at 86,187 miles, the car covered 10,544 miles. This consistent low-usage pattern typically reduces mechanical wear on the drivetrain and engine. However, low-mileage vehicles can sometimes lead to age-related degradation of rubber-based components and fluid breakdown, which do not necessarily correlate with distance travelled alone. A buyer should focus their physical inspection on components prone to age regardless of the low mileage. While the MOT record does not show recurring structural failures or brake issues, the age of the vehicle warrants a close check for corrosion on the underbody and exhaust mounting points. Inspect the suspension bushes for signs of cracking or perished rubber, as these can become brittle over long periods of standing. Given the long intervals between tests, verifying the condition of the brake lines and the freshness of the tyres is essential to ensure the vehicle has not suffered from neglect while stationary.
