2016 MINI Cooper 1.5L Petrol · SP66 YHL

The vehicle presents an exceptionally clean mechanical record, having passed its most recent MOT on 13 October 2025 at 59,652 miles with no defects or advisories recorded. This performance indicates a stable and well-maintained condition, as the car has achieved five consecutive clean passes dating back to 2021. The absence of any recorded failures or minor defects suggests the previous owner adhered to a proactive maintenance schedule rather than merely performing reactive repairs to clear test requirements. The total recorded mileage of 59,652 miles over a ten-year period averages approximately 5,965 miles annually, which is notably lower than the national average for a vehicle of this age. The data shows consistent, moderate usage patterns with no significant gaps in the testing history, implying the car has remained in regular operation rather than sitting idle for extended periods. This steady accumulation of miles is generally preferable to very low mileage, as it suggests the engine, seals, and drivetrain components have been kept lubricated and functional through regular heat cycles. Prospective buyers should focus their physical inspection on components that typically wear on this Mini Cooper model despite the clean MOT history. While the test records show no issues with suspension bushes, ball joints, or brake discs, these items are common failure points on this platform and may be nearing the end of their service life given the vehicle age. Check the condition of the run-flat tyres for uneven wear patterns, as these can mask underlying alignment issues not captured during a standard MOT test. Verify that the engine bay is free from oil leaks, particularly around the rocker cover gasket and oil filter housing, as these are frequent maintenance items that do not always trigger an MOT failure until they become severe.
