2007 Nissan Cube Cube 1.5L Petrol · SR07 RJJ

The most recent official DVSA MOT test, conducted on 4 July 2025, resulted in a pass with no defects or advisories recorded, indicating that the vehicle met the statutory roadworthiness requirements at that examination. Looking at the broader test history, the vehicle has demonstrated a largely stable maintenance trend, with passes recorded at each annual test from 2022 through 2025, interrupted only by a single failure on 25 June 2024 which was followed immediately by a pass on the same date. This pattern suggests a minor rectifiable issue was addressed without delay, and the absence of recorded defects on the subsequent test indicates it has not been a recurring concern. The clean record over the most recent three consecutive tests is a positive indicator for any prospective buyer, though the brevity of recorded advisories means the current mechanical state must still be verified through physical inspection given the vehicle's age and accumulated mileage. With 163,560 miles recorded on a 2007 model year Nissan Cube, this vehicle has covered approximately 8,608 miles per year over its nineteen-year life, which sits broadly in line with typical usage for a car of this vintage. The mileage progression appears consistent and steady rather than showing periods of rapid accumulation or extended standing, which is mechanically favourable as it implies regular use of all major drivetrain and suspension components. Nevertheless, at this overall mileage many wear-related items will have undergone multiple replacement cycles, and the high odometer reading places greater emphasis on verifying the condition of major mechanical assemblies such as the engine, automatic or manual transmission, and clutch operation where applicable. As the MOT history is clean of recorded defects, practical buyer guidance must focus on age and mileage related deterioration that may not have been flagged at test. Tyres should be carefully inspected for sidewall perishing and cracking from age, as rubber compounds degrade over calendar years regardless of tread depth, and budget tyres may already be near the end of their safe service life. The braking system warrants particular attention; given the high mileage, examine the brake discs for lipping, scoring, or corrosion around the outer edges, and check for any signs of binding calipers which are common on vehicles used for predominantly urban driving with frequent low-speed stops. On the test drive, listen for any suspension clonks or knocking noises over speed humps and uneven surfaces, and pay close attention to the steering for any vagueness, knocking from the rack, or uneven tyre wear which may indicate worn suspension bushes, drop links, or strut top mounts nearing replacement. Further inspection should include verification of time-based service items that fall outside MOT scrutiny. The 12V battery is highly likely to be approaching the end of its operational life given the vehicle's age, and a load test or voltage check should be requested. Brake fluid, coolant, and automatic transmission fluid if fitted should be assessed for age-related degradation; fluids typically require replacement on a calendar basis rather than purely by mileage, and a service history lacking recent fluid changes may indicate imminent servicing requirements. The exhaust system, while structurally examined at MOT, should be checked for blowing joints, corrosion at mounting points, and condition of the catalytic converter and rear silencer, all of which are common wear areas on a high-mileage, older vehicle. Finally, confirm the service book stamps and verify the timing belt or chain replacement history according to manufacturer schedules, as neglecting this critical maintenance on a high-mileage Nissan could lead to severe engine damage and should be a priority point of negotiation.
