2013 KIA Sportage 2.0L Diesel · ST13 WWC

A consistent record of roadworthiness over the last nine years is punctuated by a recent emergence of minor mechanical advisories, though the latest test on 05 August 2026 was completed without any defects. Between 2019 and 2023, the vehicle maintained a clean testing history, but the subsequent two years saw flags for tyre wear and brake disc condition. This suggests a transition from a period of negligible wear to a phase where consumables are beginning to degrade. The recorded mileage of 41,217 miles is notably low for a thirteen year old vehicle, averaging approximately 3,171 miles per year. Such a low accumulation rate indicates the vehicle has experienced significantly lighter use than the national average or has spent extended periods stationary. Mechanically, this typically reduces wear on the engine and drivetrain but can lead to the degradation of rubber components and the pitting of brake surfaces due to inactivity. Specific attention should be paid to the braking system and the drivetrain based on the 2025 advisories. The pitting and scoring noted on the inner surfaces of the front brake discs often occur when vehicles are under-utilised, which can lead to uneven friction or pedal pulsation. During a test drive, feel for any judder through the brake pedal under moderate deceleration. Additionally, the recorded oil leak from the differential requires verification; inspect the underside of the vehicle for active seepage or oil staining around the differential housing. The 2024 advisories regarding front tyres worn on the edges suggest a potential alignment issue or uneven loading. While the 2026 test was clean, it is important to inspect the current tread depth and check for irregular wear patterns across the width of the tyres. Listen for any abnormal road noise or steering pull during the test drive, as these can be indicators of underlying suspension or tracking problems that may have contributed to the previous tyre wear.
