2015 Subaru XV 2.0L Petrol · SV65 AVN

The 2015 Subaru XV remains roadworthy, with a stable maintenance record showing no defects across five consecutive MOT tests from 2021 to 2025. The most recent 2025 test at 12,395 miles confirmed compliance, reinforcing a consistent pattern of adherence to safety standards. No recurring issues or advisories were flagged, indicating the vehicle has been well-maintained through regular inspections. This stability suggests the previous owner prioritized mechanical reliability, with no signs of escalating faults in critical systems. The vehicle’s low mileage of 12,395 miles over 11 years equates to approximately 1,127 miles annually, significantly below average for its age. This suggests periods of limited use or storage, which can accelerate wear on components like suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake calipers due to inactivity. While the MOT history shows no defects, the sparse mileage progression—such as the 1,496-mile jump from 2021 to 2022—raises questions about potential corrosion or dry rot in static periods. The absence of structural or emission-related issues in tests is reassuring but does not eliminate the need for a thorough pre-purchase inspection. A buyer should prioritize checking for hidden wear in suspension components, particularly if the car has been stored for extended durations. Inspect brake discs and calipers for corrosion, as low mileage can lead to seized or binding mechanisms. The exhaust system and body panels should also be scrutinized for rust, as prolonged inactivity increases vulnerability. While the MOT data reflects no immediate risks, the vehicle’s low usage history necessitates a physical assessment to confirm the integrity of systems prone to degradation when not regularly driven.
