2000 Volkswagen Transporter 1.9L Diesel · TIJ 600

The vehicle presents a high level of roadworthiness evidenced by a consistent string of clean passes over the last five years. The most recent inspection conducted on November 2025 at 260,009 miles resulted in no recorded defects, maintaining a trend of perfect results since 2021. This suggests a stable maintenance regime where the owner has proactively addressed mechanical and safety requirements before they escalate into MOT failures. The mileage accumulation is remarkably consistent with the vehicle's age, averaging approximately 10,000 miles per annum. Between October 2021 at 213,563 miles and November 2025 at 260,009 miles, the vehicle covered 46,546 miles, showing a steady usage pattern rather than periods of neglect or sudden heavy strain. This regular operation is generally beneficial for a vehicle of this age as it prevents seals from drying out and limits the moisture-related corrosion often seen in long-standing vans. Despite the clean record, the age and mileage of this Volkswagen Transporter necessitate a thorough physical inspection of structural integrity and wear components. A buyer should specifically examine the sills, floor pans, and suspension mounting points for corrosion, as the MOT test only flags structural rust once it compromises the frame. Given the 260,000-mile mark, the suspension bushings, coil springs, and brake lines should be checked for signs of degradation or fatigue, as these components often fail independently of the standard test parameters.
