2008 Vauxhall Zafira 1.9L Diesel · TJ04 ATJ

The 2008 Vauxhall Zafira demonstrates a mixed maintenance trend, with the most recent MOT on 2025-03-05 confirming roadworthiness at 102,157 miles. However, the preceding test on 2025-02-27 recorded a failure just 2 miles earlier, suggesting potential unresolved issues or procedural errors. Subsequent passes in 2024 and 2023 showed no defects, but the lack of detailed failure notes limits definitive conclusions. The vehicle remains technically compliant, though the proximity of the latest pass to a prior failure raises questions about consistency in servicing. Mileage accumulation at approximately 5,675 miles annually over 18 years indicates minimal usage, which may reduce wear on components like brakes and tyres but increases risks of corrosion or component stagnation from infrequent operation. The MOT history shows regular testing intervals, with no significant gaps, though the 2023-03-06 dual test (one pass, one fail) at 85,811 miles suggests possible oversight or inconsistent inspection standards. The low mileage implies less mechanical fatigue but necessitates scrutiny of storage-related issues, such as battery health or fluid degradation. A buyer should prioritise inspecting the suspension system for worn bushes or coil springs, as low-mileage vehicles may develop stiffness or uneven wear from inactivity. The exhaust system and underbody should be checked for rust, given the car’s age, while brakes and steering components require verification for binding or uneven pad wear. Although MOT records lack specific defect details, the recent failure and low mileage underscore the need for a thorough pre-purchase inspection to confirm that maintenance issues were fully resolved.
