2009 Ford Fiesta 1.2L Petrol · TJ04 AYJ

The 2009 Ford Fiesta presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 11 March 2026 at 86,078 miles passed with no defects recorded, and the three preceding annual passes from 2023 to 2025 also carried no advisories. The single failure on 12 February 2024 at 68,316 miles listed no defects, suggesting an administrative or unrecorded minor issue rather than a mechanical fault, with the vehicle passing nine days later on 23 February 2024 at 68,466 miles. Recorded mileage sits at 86,078 against seventeen years of age, an average of roughly 5,063 miles per year. The test history shows light annual use: 65,212 miles in March 2023, 68,466 in February 2024, 68,871 in March 2025, and 86,078 in March 2026. The jump of over 12,000 miles between the 2025 and 2026 tests breaks the prior low-use pattern and may indicate a change of owner or a period of standing followed by regular driving. Prior to that, the clean record with no advisories points to basic but adequate upkeep. A buyer should still commission an in-person inspection of suspension bushes, coil springs, and brake discs given the vehicle's age and the unexplained 2024 failure. Long standing periods implied by low mileage raise the risk of perished rubber components and superficial corrosion on structural members even where the tester logged nothing. The clean MOT trail offers reassurance, but the sudden mileage rise in the final year warrants checking drivetrain wear and tyre condition that a pass with no defects would not capture.
