2012 Mercedes-Benz C 6.2L Petrol · V8 WYO

The vehicle’s most recent MOT test in March 2025, conducted at 49,727 miles, confirms a clean pass with no defects recorded. This represents a stable maintenance trend over the past five consecutive tests, with no advisories or failures to suggest recurring mechanical issues. The absence of any warnings on critical systems—such as suspension integrity, brake binding, or exhaust emissions—indicates the vehicle has not experienced significant neglect or latent failures during the tested intervals. However, the lack of defects does not preclude wear beyond MOT thresholds, particularly in areas not routinely inspected, such as internal suspension bushes or drivetrain components. The recorded mileage of 49,727 miles over nearly 14 years equates to an average of approximately 3,552 miles annually, which is unusually low for a vehicle of this age. This suggests either very light usage or prolonged periods of inactivity, both of which can accelerate certain forms of degradation—such as tyre dry-rotting, suspension rubber perishing, or battery corrosion—while mitigating high-mileage wear like brake pad friction material consumption. Notably, there are no gaps in MOT testing, and the mileage increments remain consistent, implying regular but minimal use without abrupt changes in ownership or service intervals. Given the clean MOT history, a buyer should prioritise a thorough inspection of suspension components, particularly the rear bushes and coil springs, which are prone to fatigue over time even with low mileage. The brakes, while not flagged in tests, should be assessed for uneven wear or binding calipers, especially if the vehicle has been stationary for extended periods. Tyre condition is critical—low mileage does not guarantee tread depth, and visual inspection for cracking or separation is essential. Additionally, the underbody should be examined for corrosion, particularly around the wheel arches and sills, as rust can compromise structural integrity without immediate MOT failure indicators. The vehicle’s history reflects disciplined MOT compliance, but the low mileage introduces risks distinct from high-mileage wear. A pre-purchase inspection should focus on non-consumable elements—suspension, chassis, and electrical systems—where degradation may not yet be evident in test results but could pose future reliability concerns.
