2021 Volkswagen California Ocean TDI S-A 2.0L Diesel · VE21 XYF

The Volkswagen California Ocean TDI S-A presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 12 May 2025 at 59,948 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded. This follows the prior 28 May 2024 test at 49,557 miles, also passed clean. Two consecutive annual tests with zero advisories or failures indicates the previous keeper maintained the camper to a sound standard. Mileage accumulation sits at a typical level for a five-year-old vehicle. The record shows 10,391 miles covered between May 2024 and May 2025, equating to roughly 11,990 miles per year across its life. No gaps or abrupt jumps appear in the data. The sparse two-entry history offers limited visibility, yet both tests being clean at expected distances suggests consistent, moderate use rather than neglect or excessive commercial duty. A buyer should still commission an independent inspection before purchase. The MOT file flags no recurring faults on suspension bushes, brake discs, calipers, or structural corrosion, so no specific defect trend demands targeted investigation. Given the vehicle's age and type, examine the underbody for moisture-related rust and verify the camper conversion habitation systems function, as these fall outside MOT scope. Check tyre tread depth and sidewall condition, plus wiper blades and fluid levels, as minor consumables fall outside the recorded advisories. The clean record implies basic upkeep was not skipped, but a pre-sale check protects against hidden wear the annual test did not capture.
