2005 Subaru Impreza 2.0L Petrol · VK55 HHS

The vehicle is currently roadworthy based on the most recent MOT test conducted on 26 April 2025 at 149,950 miles. The maintenance history demonstrates a stable pattern of compliance, with four consecutive passes recorded between April 2021 and April 2025. The only recorded advisory relates to the nearside front inner drive shaft joint constant velocity boot, which has severely deteriorated. This specific fault indicates a failure in the protective sealing mechanism, suggesting potential future issues with drivetrain ingress, but it is not a structural failure requiring immediate attention. The mileage accumulation is consistent with the vehicle's age, averaging approximately 7,140 miles per year over the past two decades. The record shows clean inspections at 132,574 miles in 2021 and 142,167 miles in 2023, indicating that routine servicing and maintenance were generally performed. The gap between the 2023 and 2025 tests shows a relatively low mileage increase, suggesting consistent usage rather than rapid wear. The overall record is clean, with no recurring structural or mechanical defects flagged across the previous tests. A prospective buyer should inspect the drivetrain components closely, specifically the constant velocity boot on the near side front inner drive shaft. While the current test passed, the deterioration of this boot suggests that the seal may be compromised, which could lead to future oil leaks or vibration issues. The suspension and steering components should be checked for wear, particularly the suspension bushes and coil springs, given the vehicle's age and mileage. Brake systems and structural integrity appear sound based on the available records, but a physical inspection of the exhaust system and underbody corrosion is recommended to ensure no hidden damage exists.
