2004 Mercedes-Benz E 2.7L Diesel · VU04 AOL

The vehicle demonstrates stable roadworthiness with no defects recorded in its most recent 2025 MOT at 105,784 miles. The prior three tests from 2022 to 2024 also passed without issues, indicating consistent maintenance. A single failure in June 2023 at the same mileage was noted but resolved, as the subsequent test confirmed no defects. This suggests the owner addressed any concerns promptly, maintaining compliance with safety standards. The vehicle’s low annual mileage of approximately 4,808 miles reflects minimal usage over its 22-year lifespan. Mileage increased steadily from 99,015 in 2022 to 105,784 in 2025, with no abrupt spikes or extended gaps. This pattern implies regular, light driving but also raises potential concerns about long-term component preservation, particularly in systems prone to degradation when inactive, such as seals, gaskets, and electrical connections. A buyer should inspect the suspension for worn bushes or coil springs, as these often degrade with age regardless of mileage. The exhaust system requires scrutiny for corrosion, a common issue in older vehicles. While no brake-related defects were recorded, the low mileage may mask hidden wear in calipers or discs, necessitating a hands-on check. Structural integrity should also be verified, as rust in hidden areas can develop unnoticed over decades.
