2006 Honda CBF 1000 A-6 1.0L Petrol · VU06 OOA

The 2006 Honda CBF1000 A-6 presents as roadworthy with a stable maintenance trend. The most recent test on 18 September 2025 at 29,656 miles returned a pass with no defects recorded, and the three prior annual tests from 2022 to 2024 also passed cleanly. The single failure on 19 August 2023 at 26,848 miles is anomalous: the DVSA entry shows no defects recorded, indicating a administrative or presentation fault at the test centre rather than a mechanical defect. No recurring advisories for suspension bushes, brake discs, corrosion, or exhaust emissions appear across the five-year record. Recorded mileage sits at 29,656 against an August 2006 build, averaging roughly 1,483 miles per year. The bike gained only 939 miles between the September 2022 test (24,696 miles) and August 2023 (26,848 miles), then 1,869 miles to August 2024 (28,717 miles), and 939 miles to September 2025. Such low, fairly even accumulation points to light recreational use rather than commuting or long storage gaps. The clean test history with no flagged consumable wear like tyres or wiper blades suggests previous owners kept basic upkeep current despite the limited miles. A buyer should still inspect the machine in person for age-related issues the MOT will not capture on a low-mileage twenty-year-old bike. Check suspension linkages and fork seals for weepage, and confirm the chain and sprockets are not corroded from standing. The clean record gives no cause to expect binding calipers or structural rust, but a visual check of the frame and exhaust for pitting remains sensible given the 2006 vintage. Given the absence of any recorded advisories or defects, the CBF1000 shows no warning signs of worsening mechanical condition. The verifiable evidence supports a well-preserved example with consistent test passes, though a pre-purchase inspection remains prudent on any two-decade-old motorcycle.
