2006 Ford Focus 2.0L Diesel · VU56 WVG

The vehicle remains roadworthy but the maintenance history reveals a clear trend of deteriorating structural and suspension-related condition. The most recent test in April 2026 at 150,860 miles flagged recurring issues with worn bushes on both rear suspension arms and damage to the rear shock absorbers. While the car consistently passes, the persistence of these advisories across multiple years indicates that components are reaching the end of their functional life and have not yet been proactively replaced. At 150,860 miles over 20 years, the Focus has averaged approximately 7,500 miles per year, which is consistent with typical low-mileage usage. The mileage accumulation is steady, with intervals of roughly 4,000 to 5,000 miles between each annual test from 2022 to 2026. This consistent use suggests the vehicle has not sat for long periods, though the age of the car is the primary driver for the observed corrosion-related degradation of the rubber and metal components. A buyer must prioritise a thorough inspection of the chassis and lower suspension assembly. The record notes corrosion on the front sub-frame and suspension arms as of 2023, which has now progressed to surface corrosion on the nearside front wing and rear wheel arch. The structural integrity of the sub-frame requires physical verification to ensure the rust has not progressed beyond surface level. Additionally, the recurring mention of pitted and scored brake discs across all five recorded tests suggests the previous owner only replaces components when they reach a failure threshold rather than following a preventative maintenance schedule.
