2013 Fiat Ducato 2.3L Diesel · VX13 AOU

The vehicle passed its most recent MOT on 2023-05-15 at 129,186 miles with no defects recorded, indicating a stable maintenance trend. However, the gap between this test and the current date of 2026-07-16 exceeds three years, which is beyond the standard MOT cycle. This absence of recent testing raises concerns about unrecorded deterioration in components not assessed during the 2023 inspection, such as suspension bushes, coil springs, or exhaust emissions. The prior 2022-05-14 failure at 110,803 miles, though noted as having no defects, suggests potential inconsistencies in the MOT process or unaddressed minor issues that may have since resolved. The mileage progression shows an average annual usage of 9,937 miles, aligning with typical patterns for a 13-year-old vehicle. The 2021-05-24 tests at 96,920 miles recorded two failures, but no defects were logged, complicating analysis. Subsequent tests in 2022 and 2023 show steady mileage increases without significant anomalies, though the lack of detailed defect reports limits insight into recurring mechanical or structural risks. The absence of advisories for corrosion, brake disc wear, or suspension binding in the 2023 test is reassuring, but does not confirm the absence of such issues. A buyer should prioritise in-person checks for suspension components, particularly rear brake calipers and coil springs, given the 2023 test’s lack of detail on these areas. Structural integrity should be verified, as rust or body corrosion could have developed unnoticed. The vehicle’s history of MOT failures without recorded defects also warrants scrutiny of the previous owner’s maintenance practices, potentially indicating overlooked or unresolved issues. While the latest test confirms roadworthiness, the extended interval since 2023 necessitates a thorough pre-purchase inspection to address unassessed risks.
