2000 Volkswagen Caddy 1.9L Diesel · W127 AJB

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness profile based on the final available MOT data. The most recent test conducted on December 7, 2022 at 178,998 miles resulted in a pass with no recorded defects, following an initial failure on the same day. This suggests a minor issue was rectified immediately to meet compliance. Since no further tests have been recorded for over three a half years, the current roadworthiness status is technically lapsed and requires an immediate inspection. The mileage pattern is consistent with light usage for a 26-year-old vehicle, averaging approximately 6,885 miles per year. Between July 2019 at 159,348 miles and January 2022 at 174,269 miles, the vehicle covered 14,921 miles over roughly thirty months. The subsequent interval of 4,729 miles between January and December 2022 shows a reduction in usage. This low accumulation suggests the engine has not been subjected to extreme mechanical stress, though it increases the likelihood of rubber components and seals degrading due to age alone. A buyer must prioritize a thorough structural inspection of the chassis and sills, as older Volkswagen Caddy models are prone to significant corrosion that may not always manifest until it becomes critical. The lack of recorded advisories regarding suspension bushes or brake lines in the history is unusual for a vehicle of this age and warrants a manual check for rust. Given the long gap since the last recorded test, you should also check for fluid degradation and inspect the braking system for seized calipers or perished hoses that could cause a subsequent MOT failure.
