2008 Bentley Continental 6.0L Petrol · W12 OAP

A consistent record of roadworthiness defines this vehicle, with a sequence of clean passes culminating in the most recent test on 17 June 2026. Aside from a single set of advisories in 2021, the DVSA history shows no failures or recurring defects over the last seven years, indicating a stable mechanical state regarding the items inspected during annual tests. The recorded mileage of 68,158 miles is low for an eighteen year old vehicle, averaging approximately 3,787 miles per year. This usage pattern suggests the vehicle has spent significant periods stationary or has been used for limited journeys. Mechanically, such low annual accumulation often shifts the wear profile away from drivetrain fatigue and toward the degradation of rubber components and seals due to age rather than distance. Inspection should focus on the chassis and suspension components, specifically the lower suspension arm bushes. While the 2021 advisory for the nearside front lower suspension arm pin or bush was not flagged in subsequent tests, these components are prone to perishing over time. During a test drive, listen for knocks or clunks when traversing uneven surfaces or during low-speed manoeuvring, and feel for any instability or vagueness in the steering response. The 2021 record also highlighted wear on all four tyres, specifically noting wear on the edges. This can be a symptom of incorrect wheel alignment or suspension geometry issues. Ensure the current tyres show even tread wear across the width of the tyre. Check for any vibration through the steering wheel at motorway speeds, which could indicate that the previously flagged suspension wear or subsequent replacements require further alignment.
