2003 Kawasaki ZX-12R 1.2L Petrol · WA03 ARX

The 2003 Kawasaki ZX-12R demonstrates stable roadworthiness, with no defects recorded across six consecutive MOT tests from 2022 to 2026. The most recent test on 2026-04-10 at 37,484 miles confirmed compliance, reflecting consistent maintenance. No recurring issues or escalating faults were flagged, indicating the vehicle has been well-preserved. The absence of advisories or failures suggests the previous owner prioritized regular servicing, though the low mileage raises questions about long-term component health. The bike’s recorded mileage of 37,484 miles over 23 years equates to approximately 1,630 annual miles, significantly below average for its age. This pattern shows steady, incremental increases of 1,000–1,100 miles per year, with tests conducted exactly one year apart. Such a sparse mileage history implies infrequent use or prolonged periods of inactivity, which can lead to issues like seized suspension bushes, hardened rubber components, or corrosion in static areas. The lack of rapid wear or structural defects in the MOT records is positive but does not eliminate risks associated with long-term storage. A buyer should inspect the motorcycle’s suspension for stiffness or uneven wear, particularly in coil springs and bushings, which may degrade without regular movement. Brake calipers and discs should be checked for binding or corrosion, as low-mileage vehicles can develop sticking mechanisms. The frame and exhaust system warrant scrutiny for hidden rust, as prolonged inactivity increases vulnerability to environmental damage. While the MOT history shows no immediate concerns, the low usage profile necessitates a thorough mechanical check to confirm components remain functional despite the bike’s age.
