2009 Bentley Continental 6.0L Petrol · WH05 AJA

This Bentley Continental has maintained a consistent MOT pass history with no recorded defects across five consecutive tests, the most recent of which occurred just over two years ago on 19 May 2025. The absence of advisories or failings suggests the vehicle has undergone regular servicing and passed all mandatory DVSA checks without exception. While the 2026 test is now overdue, the pattern of clean MOT results indicates no obvious recurring mechanical issues. However, the extended gap since the last inspection—nearly 1,000 miles beyond the standard 12-month interval—means critical components may have degraded beyond what a visual check could reveal. The recorded mileage of 53,442 miles over 17 years equates to an average of approximately 3,144 miles annually, a figure significantly lower than the UK average for vehicles of this age. This suggests either minimal use or prolonged periods of inactivity, which could impact fluid degradation, suspension elasticity, and tyre condition. Notably, there are no gaps in mileage reporting between tests, but the slow accumulation raises questions about whether the vehicle was stored or driven infrequently during certain periods. Such low mileage can mask underlying issues, particularly in high-performance or luxury vehicles where wear on components like coil springs, suspension bushes, and electrical systems may still be advancing, even if not yet severe. Given the lack of MOT defects, a buyer should prioritise an independent inspection of the suspension system, particularly the condition of coil springs, shock absorbers, and bushings, which are prone to fatigue over time regardless of mileage. The braking system—including caliper binding, disc thickness, and pad wear—should be thoroughly checked, as even low-mileage vehicles can develop hidden corrosion or wear in brake hardware. Structural integrity, especially in the chassis and underbody, warrants close examination for corrosion, particularly in areas prone to moisture retention. Finally, the electrical systems, including lighting, sensors, and the emissions control system, should be tested, as these are often overlooked in low-mileage vehicles but critical for roadworthiness. The absence of MOT advisories does not guarantee these areas are flawless.
