2012 Mitsubishi L200 2.5L Diesel · WJ12 PXU

The vehicle presents a stable roadworthiness status, showing an improving maintenance trend following a period of mechanical inconsistency. The most recent test conducted in June 2024 at 150,562 miles returned a pass with no recorded defects or advisories. This indicates that the issues previously encountered in early 2022 were successfully addressed and that the vehicle has maintained a high standard over the last two testing cycles. The mileage pattern remains consistent with typical usage for a commercial vehicle of this age, averaging approximately 10,754 miles per year. There is a notable gap in records between January 2022 and April 2023, where the vehicle covered only 659 miles in fourteen months. However, usage increased significantly thereafter, with 13,821 miles logged between April 2023 and June 2024. This shift suggests the vehicle moved from a period of standing to more active use, which often places higher stress on drivetrain components and suspension bushings. While the recent history is clean, the two failures in January 2022 at 136,049 and 136,074 miles warrant a close physical inspection of the chassis and braking system. Repeated failures within a short window often point to specific mechanical lapses such as worn brake components or minor emission issues. A buyer should specifically check for structural corrosion on the frame rails and mounting members, as high-mileage pickups of this era are susceptible to deep rust in hidden areas. Inspect the shock absorbers for leaks and verify the condition of the coil springs to ensure the recent stability is maintained.
